Flooding is a fact of life. Recent episodes of flood damage (hurricane Sandy on the east coast) have highlighted the need for this important coverage. The homeowners’ policy excludes flooding from rising waters. Therefore each homeowner must secure coverage for this peril from the National Flood Insurance Program.

Flood Insurance provides $250,000 in coverage for Residential dwelling and $100,000 for contents. Commercial policies are covered for $500,000 on the building. We can provide additional limits above and beyond these limits issued by the National Flood Insurance Program.

Am I In A Flood Zone?

All homes exist in a flood zone. A flood zone is defined as the elevation above sea level which increases or decreases the likelihood of flooding from rising water. The lower the elevation, the greater the likelihood of flooding and hence the higher the premium.
